Rarely do I indulge in burgers, fries and milkshakes all in one sitting. The concoction of comfort foods actually brings me back to my youth. As an energetic dancer, I was able to enjoy the tasty trifecta with little to no guilt. Today, I still love an all-natural burger from time to time. Therefore, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit Four Burgers with some of my favorite local bloggers.
The Boylston Street burger spot prides itself on using only the very best, locally grown produce including hormone-free beef from northeast farms — a major draw for my health conscious self. In addition to beef, Four Burgers serves salmon, turkey and vegan/black bean burgers — hence the name. I was torn between three tempting things: the turkey burger with cranberry chutney, the salmon burger with sesame slaw and the grass-fed beef burger with fried egg. Eager to try a burger topped with fried egg, I took what some would call the robust road and added Vermont cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and chipotle mayo. It was an ‘all or nothing’ kind of night.
My grass-fed beef burger was cooked to a medium-well finish as ordered and the accoutrements I chose added to its lure and deliciousness. The skinny house cut fries were flavorful, though slightly soggy. A glass of red wine made a cozy companion to my meal and an overflowing vanilla milkshake was perfect for dessert. Overall: delicious!
