On July 30, Parisian flair descended on Boston as nearly 2,000 revelers celebrated Le Dîner en Blanc – an elegant picnic launched in Paris nearly 30 years ago. The event, which now spans more than 70 cities worldwide, was designed to promote gallantry, friendship and community. Guests dress to impress in white attire and bring tables, chairs, lavish décor and gourmet foods to a hush-hush locale that’s only disclosed minutes before they’re whisked from a central meeting place to the long-awaited secret soirée.
The waterfront terrace at the Boston Children’s Museum was home to this year’s sparkling affair. Partygoers decorated their tables (some so beautifully over-the-top, I must add) before enjoying homemade cuisine or pre-ordered picnic baskets from The Smoke Shop and The Best Little Restaurant. Libations were available courtesy of Apotic Wines and Champagne Lanson. Mr. Chat and I took in the festivities from the media lounge where we sampled gourmet hors d’oeuvres, toasted to Champagne and mingled with the masses. I love a good theme party and this one did not disappoint. To learn more about Le Dîner en Blanc 2017, follow the event producers Facebook and Twitter.
