Last night was very busy for television. With so much entertainment and eye candy broadcasting from numerous networks, I had so many choices: the 71st Golden Globe Awards, Downton Abbey, Girls and Revenge. Sadly, I don’t watch Girls… yet. I knew Revenge was out of the question — that’s why I pay for DVR service. I knew E’s red carpet procession was a MUST. Oh how I love to tweet Hollywood’s fashion hits and misses with the style and star struck.
I gushed over gorgeous gowns, dazzling diamonds and flawless faces for the better part of three hours (before turning my attention to Downton Abbey). Last night was noteworthy of many high-end designers and fashion houses including Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera and Gucci. Personally, I thought Gucci hit a home run with Margot Robbie, Olivia Wilde and Mila Kunis.
In all honesty, it’s the red carpet event that really feeds my stylish soul. I’ve been watching award show arrivals with my mom for as long as I can remember. These days, while I’m live tweeting the event, I’m also chatting with her on the phone. I don’t know how I do all three at once. It’s magic!
Here’s a look at 10 of my favorites from the 71st Golden Globe Awards. You’ll notice many familiar faces, while others may be less conventional but they’re all beautiful nonetheless. And don’t miss my dress picks from last year.
Sleek, stunning and sophisticated at 23-years-old. The youth in Hollywood should take several pages from Margot’s book. Beyond. Beautiful. And I don’t have much else to say except that it was my favorite look of the night. I loved the jewel trim and her emerald heels were killer too!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Nancy O’Dell always looks flawless. Her gown was simple in form (even though it was embellished on top) and striking in hue. Cobalt is certainly her color. She also wore blue last year.
