What better way to kick-off my new lifestyle blog than with a post showcasing my first annual Christmas & Cocktails. The evening was a stunning success (if I do say so myself). With a lush & classic theme in mind, I methodically adorned my space in red, silver and gray. I can never have too much silver and gray in my life, but they’re always accompanied by pops of color.
Ornaments ~ Pier 1 Imports and Pottery Barn |
I have always decorated my Christmas Tree in purple and sliver, but this year I was happy with the switch to red and silver. I immediately fell in love with the red partridge from Pier 1 Imports and knew she would grace my tree.
Flowers ~ Olympia Flower Store |
I have been doing business with Olympia Flower Store in Boston’s South End for years and I have never been disappointed. I worked directly with the owner who has such a creative eye. She certainly captured my vision and surpassed my (always high) expectations.
Velvet Reindeer ~ HomeGoods |
I absolutely love the ornate antlers on these reindeer. Not only are the bodies made from a plush velvet, but the base and antlers are lightly dusted with red glitter. Sparkle!

I love place cards for items on your menu. They are fun, creative and add a touch of elegance. I could spend all day dreaming up unique titles such as Snowflake Salmon Salad, Let it Snow Lasagna and Tannenbaum Tomato & Mozzarella (all served but not pictured). A quick trip to Michaels and you will find all of the crafty ingredients needed to assemble prefect place cards. As for the titles, a creative thinking cap is a must.

Le Chat |
And last but certainly never least, le chat (a.k.a. Manolo) enjoying the comforts of a gray, velvet accent chair from HomeGoods which I will have to “de-fur” later. He partially inspired the title: Rue Le Chat.
Merry Christmas!
